She looks at you, and you stare in wonder. Her eyes have long been blinded by the sins of the world around her, but yet they still seem to see into your very soul. Her once beautiful wings have lost their white purity, but you can almost imagine what they must have looked like, when the world was new. Gone are her virgin robes of white, and the glorious harps of gold, replaced with the clothing of a mere mortal. But her dignity is unmistakable, even as she kneels on the cold cement.
You open your mouth, but cannot for your life think of what to say. There is a strange hollow feeling in the pit of your stomach, as you look at her, once the epitome of all that is good and holy, fallen to this state of despair. Is this what the world has come to now?
